Acton Scott | Shropshire Geological Society

Acton Scott is a small village in South Shropshire. Its buildings look different to those in neighbouring villages because they have been built from stone found on the Acton Scott Estate.

The church and other buildings on the estate including the Hall are built of Acton Scott Limestone. This rock has a very restricted distribution and forms a plateau in the valley known as Apedale.
