About the Shaping of Shropshire

The Shaping of Shropshire was a geology project jointly run by the Shropshire Wildlife Trust and the Shropshire Geological Society, employing Liz Etheridge for three years. Its objectives were to increase the awareness, appeal and accessibility of geology to the broadest possible audience.

Because of Shropshire's unique geological heritage it is ideally placed to tell the story of how the earth came to be the way we see it today.

A series of selected sites across the County illustrate key moments in time and tell dramatic stories that lie hidden within the rocks.
